we were up at the cottage for a week. we learned to kayak. i got a bit of a burn on the last day, but nothing like last summer.
we tried to go out for supper on saturday night. there is no place in midland or penatangeushine that caters to vegetarians. at all. we ended up with subs from mr.sub. nothing special, but you could tell that the old couple working there owned it and took a certain amount of pride in their subs. at least no horrible teen was jerking off in the "sub sauce".
i can't wait for my next vacation.

brunch at la hacienda. french toast consisting of two croissants with brie, caramalized apples and bananas, mango and raspberry puree, garnished with blueberries and strawberries. too good to be true. it is a lot of rich food and worth every moment of being "stuffed puke full".

i spent nearly $1300 on a t.v., ps2, and video games over the past week.
guess what i came home to find vasco playing. super mario world on the freaking super nintendo! i'm surprised he didn't hook it up to the 13" b&w while he was at it.

ahhh. i made dinner tonight. three salads, a dip, a spread and some most excellent flax pitas. the pasta salad was left over from last night. i made a lupini bean salad and a bulger and lentil salad. i purchased some baba ganoush and some tapanade. vasco and d-cup weren't too keen on the lupini bean salad. i didn't mind it. everything else was very good. there are a few left-overs for tomorrow. perhaps i can avoid dining out. i do enjoy brunch on my own though. perhaps i'll make the trip to saving grace after all.

the stupid thing about it is, i make up passwords that have nothing to do with anything about or around me. no one that knows me would be able to guess the freaking password.

the family reunion at the cottage was a HUGE success. at least that's what they were saying when everyone was gone.
the best part of it for me was the rental car. i don't know how it happened, but we got a 2002 mustang convertable with a six cd changer. the ride to the cottage was excellent. seeing as vasco does not drive, i was behind the wheel and i enjoyed every second of it.
the weather on saturday was amazing. it was hot and sunny, but not toooo hot. i did get a bit of a burn on the drive up, but i'm finding that it isn't very uncomfortable.
sunday was muggy and overcast, but the weather held up most of the way home. we stopped in at T.A.M.E. and visited tint and the other T.A.M.E. staff. the archives were most inviting and it sure showed movie poster collecting in the most desirable light. i can finally see the appeal of every aspect of the art of collecting.
we did run into some nasty weather just north of toronto. heavy, heavy rain and lightning. don't worry about the car though, as i had the foresight to put the top up prior to our departure from T.A.M.E..
that is all for now. i will be looking at another visit to the cottage next month. it seems as if i will be working only 7 days all month and will be leaving town as much as possible.

a really huge fly got in to the basement room and vasco is going to kill me if i don't get it first. i've been chasing the damn thing around with a rolled up newspaper trying to smash it and i have only managed to freak the dog out. i whacked the fly once and it landed on the floor but before i could smash it again and do it in, it got up and flew away.

the garbage strike is over. they will resume regular garbage pick up on monday.
i feel better about the summer now. the city still stinks, but not like it was.

ugh. it's so humid. and stinky. the neighbours are using some machine that emits a foul stench that is drifting through the house. i fear i shall get a headache from it.
not to mention the stench of the city in general. the garbage is piling up and reeking to high heaven.
other than the heat, humidity, and fetid odour the summer is great. yeah right! i can't hang out outside because of those very things. piss me off!

i am writing this from my brand new emac. i am so happy to have a new computer. i'm sure that a new computer is no big deal to many people, but i have never had one of my own. in fact, if it wasn't for vasco i would probably have never even felt a need for a computer. i'm a bit of a luddite sometimes.
